At whatdoio, protecting your personal information is a core principle. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, manage, and secure your information when you use our mobile application.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the specific details you share while interacting with the app:

Profile Details: Setting up a profile requires your name, email address, and an optional photo. Authentication is managed securely via Supabase.
Ledger Records: To compute balances, we save the expense descriptions, group names, split structures, amounts, currencies, and exchange rate values you log.
App Performance Data: We gather basic diagnostic info (like operating system version and device type) to troubleshoot crashes and monitor app health.

3. How We Use Your Information

We utilize your data to:

Run our balance-splitting solver and display accurate group ledgers.
Manage secure login sessions and verify your identity.
Dispatch essential transactional emails (such as password resets).
Maintain system security and prevent abuse.
No Profiling or Advertising: We do not track your behavior across other apps or websites, build marketing profiles, or serve advertisements. Your group history remains completely private.

4. Data Sharing and Third-Party Subprocessors

We never monetize, sell, or rent your personal information. We only share data with the essential subprocessors required to host and run the application:

Hosting & Auth (Supabase): Your ledger databases and profile accounts are stored securely on Supabase servers.
Transactional Emails: We use an email provider solely to send registration and account recovery messages.

5. Data Retention and Account Deletion

We retain your personal data only as long as your account is active.

Account Deletion & Ledger Integrity: You can request account deletion in the app settings at any time. Once requested (and provided all group balances are settled to zero), your email, name, and avatar will be permanently deleted from our records. To prevent breaking historical calculations for other users, transaction records and split details you participated in will not be deleted; they will be permanently anonymized and associated with a generic "Deleted User".

Service Discontinuation: In the event that the Service is permanently shut down or discontinued, we will securely delete or wipe all personally identifiable user data (such as names, emails, and passwords) from our active databases within a reasonable timeframe.

6. Security of Your Data

We use industry-standard security measures, including HTTPS encryption in transit and secure database storage, to protect your personal information. However, no electronic transmission over the internet or storage technology can be guaranteed 100% secure.

7. Children's Privacy

Our Service is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it immediately.

8. International Data Transfers
