whatdoio is a collaborative ledger utility built to simplify tracking group expenses, calculating splits, and balancing ledgers in multiple currencies.
No Financial Transactions: We operate solely as a mathematical log. The Service does not transmit or process real currency, bank deposits, or payments. Any settlements or payments recorded in the app must be executed externally between users (e.g., via cash, bank transfer, or third-party payment services).
Optional Premium Features: The core ledger and bill-splitting features of the Service are provided free of charge. We reserve the right to introduce optional, advanced tools or services in the future that require payment, which will be clearly disclosed to you before use.
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We reserve the right to modify, update, suspend, or permanently discontinue the Service (including shutting down servers and database access) at any time, without prior notice and without liability to you. In the event of a permanent shutdown of the Service, we will securely delete or wipe all personally identifiable user data (such as names, emails, and passwords) from our active databases.
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all actions taken under your account. You agree to maintain accurate information on your profile.
Deletion & Ledger Integrity: You can delete your account via the settings at any time, provided your net balances in all active groups are exactly zero. Outstanding balances must be settled before deletion. To preserve ledger calculations for other group members, your personal data (name, email, avatar) will be anonymized or erased upon deletion, but anonymous historical transaction logs will remain.
You agree to use the Service only for lawful logging. You retain ownership of any details you upload (like group names and amounts), but you grant us a license to process and host that data solely to operate the app. You are responsible for the content you submit and may not upload malicious code, engage in fraudulent behavior, or post abusive, violent, or illegal material. We reserve the right to delete violating content.
Our management of personal data is detailed in our Privacy Policy. By utilizing the Service, you consent to our data collection and handling practices outlined in that policy.
We reserve the right to temporarily suspend or permanently cancel your access to the Service at our discretion if we determine you have violated these Terms or engaged in behavior that harms other users or the platform.
The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE." We do not warrant that the calculations, splits, balances, or currency exchange rates provided by the Service will be 100% accurate, error-free, uninterrupted, or reliable. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, whatdoio and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
Informational Purposes & Verification: The Service is provided for informational and convenience purposes only. You are solely responsible for verifying the accuracy of all calculations, splits, and balances before executing any real-world payments or transfers. We are not a party to any transactions, agreements, splits, or disputes between users, and we are not responsible or liable for any disagreements regarding tracked expenses, balances, or payments.
Our total liability for any claim related to the Service shall not exceed the amount paid by you, if any, to us during the twelve months preceding the claim.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless whatdoio, its developers, affiliates, and agents from any legal claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms from time to time. Your continued use of the Service after revisions are published constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
